Still Chasing computer Problems
I torched the EEC on my 92 F-150 and think I have finially tracked one down. Proble is I hate to do a $200.00 test to find out a short is what caused the computer to torch. Has anyone seen any good info on checking the various components through the EEC connector for power, continuity etc. I have a Haynes and its pretty worthless when it comes to this type of trouble shooting. I sure would like to check all the various inputs this baby receives before pressing on. Appreciate any info/help

I don't think that any of the inputs would have done your computer in. You have two types of inputs, digital and analog. The digital is an open or closed switch or something similar and the analog is a varying value like engine temperature, O2 sensor etc. These inputs get their power supply directly from the computer. That is why I think your prolem is not with your inputs but it was within the computer itself.

Don't forget to try junk yards. A friend found one for his 302 Mustang and lo, it was the same part number as the one in my '92 F-150. Cost him $45 and has been running for more than 2 years now.
