I am currently starting to build my 87, already has lift and a power plant, so I'm off to a good start.
Current mods:
4" skyjacker lift
3" body
33" rollers
Built 302
Minimal rust for a northern Michigan truck
Plans:
new tires
50" light bar above the windshield
Topper
Turn topper into camper type deal
Fix wipers
Fix coolant leak (in progress)
New lockouts
How she used to sit, those are 33's, not rollers though
How she sits now
How she sat when I got her, those are 35's, still deciding if I want 33's, or go back to 35's, gearing is no issue either
Looks good. I am working on reviving an 87 F-150 with the same body style and engine. I like the fact that yours doesn't have that stupid chrome trim around the wheel arches.
This may be an odd question, but what does the badge on the passenger side of your dash say? My truck is an XLT Lariat but the badge says "XL F-SERIES". I saw another '87 on Craigslist that just said "F-SERIES". Some junkyard trucks had no badge at all and I know the '91 my dad used to drive had no badge. I've wondered what the differences were.

Update: coolant leak is now fixed, getting a new set of 35's put on tomorrow, going to pick up a new wiper motor next week, and probably a new set of lockouts
Little update, I took the truck out on its maiden voyage off-road, truck did great, sadly on the way home she caught fire, power steering line blew all over the exhaust manifold. Only got the drivers side of the engine bay, but it still did a lot of damage, I ended up having to let her go...
