Mileage Question

I recently purchased my 2003 and have mostly been driving it to work and around town, very little highway miles. So far I seem to be averaging around 13.2 MPG. Is this a reasonable performance.
When I purchased it, I had to drive 230 miles home and I don't seem to be getting much better on the highway. was running about 70 mph depending on speed zone and climbed Snoqualime Pass on the way.
Is this pretty normal.

The truck is 7.3L, Crew Cab, 4x4, DRW and has 4.10 gears, automatic, no programmer, stock.

We get 13 to 14 in town,17 to 19 on highway with 3.73 gears & srw,I think with 4.10 gears & extra set of tires & weight, you will lose at least 3mpg on the highway ,could check your exhaust back press. sensor & tube for blockage, check out the read first at the top of this section to check your engines health.

Normal and well within decent values, especially since the ULSD fuel changes several years back.

Crop Harvester addressed the gear issue which is the other major contributing factor.

Just drive like you have an unbroken rotten egg under your accelerator pedal... easy does it.

I get mid-13s in town. The only times I have seen 17+ is when I'm driving 55-60 on back roads. Driving 70 will lower your mileage over driving a slower speed.
