hi guys, wondering if someone can help me out here, i am replacing the rear spring mount and shackle, ive gotten the old one out no problem and have the new parts ready to go but looking at them i am a little confused,
one, the part of the shackle that attaches to the mount has some play left and right, about 1/8 on an inch and that doesnt seem right, thought it would be right tight to either side.
my second issue is that the part of the shackle that attaches to the spring, the ne bushing comes without an new rubber, but the bushing fits tight inside the hole, i thought i may need some new rubber but it seems not.
can anyone shed some light on this before i go and put the wrong parts in there. thanks,
Nick
You will have some play in between for clearance. Not a crazy amount but right around the amount you are describing. Once you torque everything down and together those hanger ears will close up against the shackle and everything will fit together just fine.
Not really sure what you are saying with the rubber bushing. Can you explain a little further?
So the old bushing between the shackle and the end on the spring has rubber cuffs on either end. The new bushing that came with the "kit" is a metal with no rubber cuffs. But this new bushing fits tight inside the hole so I'm assuming they just made the bushing larger and did away with the rubber but I wasn't certain.
