starts with command start. key does nothing

starts with command start. key does nothing

Hello I have a 2012 drw 4x4 crew cab long box 6.7 and woke up today and my key buttons worked lock, unlock, and command start. But putting my key in ignition does nothing. I am 2 hours in the woods on a camping trip, I need ideas before I pay 500+ for a remote tow call.

Battery voltage is 12.3
Everything seems to work just the ignition does nothing.

Please help.

Do you have the other key to try? Might be something with the RFID chip.

With the key turned on can you shift into gear?
The first thing electronic tech support does is disconnect the power. disconnect both batteries and hope for a reset.
At least your smart phone is working.

Well I feel like an idiot. Fuse 28 inside the cab. Thanks for all the help, I wish I had checked the fuses first off but as soon as I googled the issue there were so many threads about bad batteries and computers failing that I just went to worst case scenero.

Always nice to find something "wrong" when troubleshooting. Glad it was just a fuse.

I would still be concerned though. A fuse blows for a reason.

Being out in the bush, was this a rough ride? Possible that you could have giggled something loose and it shorted out. But now that you are 'stationary' it's ok...

I hope you can figure out why it blew a fuse, but happy you should be able to get out without a $500 tow bill...
