What brand of HIDs do you have? I used brightsource in my 12 superduty and lowered them as low as they would go. I had to pull them because everybody highbeamed me.
I would like to thank you for not being a dick!!!!
This may just be the case with mine, but I'm pretty sure my LED headlights are causing my TPMS sensors to read a fault. I haven't narrowed it down 100% yet, but it's happened 3 times, all at night and after I've been driving over 20 miles.
I've driven with only my fog lights on and not had the fault. Has anyone else had this happen? Maybe something to consider with the LED module causing some type of interference.
Totally agree with DHPRO - I used their Dual Beam HID Kit in my '08 F250 and it was in there for over 3 years without a problem. As others have said, just adjust them properly. I installed the same kit in my '15 F350 about 6 months ago and am having the same results. They work great, have had no issues blinding anyone, but again, I spent about 45 minutes adjusting them and them checked them at a MA Inspection Station to assure they were below the legal height!!! Haven't tried the Fog Lights on either of my trucks however...
Not concerned with legal/illegal. I need to see and stock lights are worse than my lawnmower! I just dont want melting issues, balkast or blown bulb issues. Just need the brightest light I can get in the stock housings
The problem with installing an HID kit in your OEM housing without doing an actual Projector retrofit is that 80% of your HID lighting will not case on the road. Your housing is a reflector style housing and the with increased length of the HID bulb, it causes your factory reflector to really disperse the light everywhere. This is why you don't want to do that.
I actually tried it at first but ended up doing a retrofit because the light pattern was so poor with a simple plug and play HID kit.
AND depending on the 35/55watt kit, you could melt your OEM headlight housing.
