6.0 icp problem

I have a 2006 that shuts off in a hard pull, if i wait 3 minutes it starts again. I hooked up my scan tool and when it dies and I crank it it only builds 200psi oil pressure, let it sit it builds enough pressure to run fine. If I dont push it over 3500psi for more than minute it wont die pull a hill it dies again . Has anyone else had an issue like this is, it the hpop or an o-ring.

You need some kind of a scan tool to read the live data to see what the truck is doing. I agree with the HPO problem, but without any data we'd just be guessing and you'd be wasting a lot of time and money.

I have it hooked up to a maxidas scan tool, the ficm power is 47.99 volt icp regulator is working properly. I'm just at a loss on why it loses pressure or wont build pressure and then seems fine after a few minutes of sitting.

Yeah stock filter and cap. Pulled icp sensor and put 180 psi shop air to it, couldn't hear anything. A little info on truck, its our shop service truck weights 16000 lbs, about 30,000 miles ago did the arp head studs, egr delete, new oil cooler, rebuilt hpop. About 10,000 miles ago I pulled the ficm and soldered the board. Other than losing 2 injectors its been good.

sound like someone left a aftermarket washer in the oil filter , double check the stand pipe , shouldn't be anything but filter

When you are testing the ICP, make sure you pull the heat shield and inspect the wiring. Sometimes wire insulation gets melted to the point of allowing a intermittent short due to heat. Had to replace one last summer and it took forever to diagnose.

Actually, mine's a late build 04. Did they move the IPR after that on the 6.0? Makes sense if they did but don't recall seeing anything about it. Curious if OP ever got an answer too.

Got it fixed. Put in a rebuilt hpop and new icp valve. Has anyone had a hpop apart, is there a pressure relief spring inside? There's a hole behind the gear that appears to be some kind of a relief port.
