newby lost again

where do I search and how? just got a 96/97 F250 Heavy Duty 4x4 460ci and have no idea what type or brand of shocks to get. So many choices and prices.
How do I find previous posts on the subject? Thanks

Go to your parts store and tell 'em what you need. Simple. Don't worry about all these special shocks, fancy advertising claims, etc. I've use KYB, Monroe, Gabriel and others all with good results. It's likely you'll never feel the difference in normal driving.

I just replaced all four struts on my wife's car. Got a private label NAPA strut for the rears ($35/each) and inexpensive import SRT's for the front ($84.00 each with springs). The car rides great. I had a limited budget so I bought on price.

I used to haul Maremont shocks and exhaust out of their Nashville factory for Sears warehouses. I loved to watch the production lines. They'd be building one line of shocks and painting them in whatever color the final customer had requested. Same shocks… different brands.

Let the beatings begin...

I like KYBs price/performance ratio, but I have had good results with Gabriel and Monroe as well. Bilstein is way over-priced IMO. You can get some good deals on RockAuto on shocks, they are always having closeouts whenever I need shocks, anyway.

Hello y'all I got a 88 ford f150 with a 4.9 I bought the truck and it was running 190*f the truck sat for a couple months I went to drive it and it started running 210*f thought it might of been the thermostat. Pulled the housing off and there wasn't one in there so I put one in and was still running 210*f so I changed the water pump and its still running 210*f any ideas what it might be. Has dual electric fans on it just to note and they are working thanks y'all
