fuel pump problems ! <hr style="color:#FFFFFF; background-color:#FFFFFF" size="1"> My 1994 5.0 F150 XLT extended cab 4x4 is pumping gas from the rear tank to the front tank. I think the check valve in the front pump has failed. I do not have the switching valve on the frame.
I would like to confirm this is the problem before I pull the bed.
Also not sure if you're in the salt belt but if you are it will be worse pulling the bed than dropping the tank from under the truck, all the bolts for the bed rot and rust up and it's almost always easier and quicker to just drop the tank.
Thanks guys. I have pulled the bed before as this will be the third fuel pump issue in 6 years! I am considering a single 35 gal rear tank, but it is not listed for my F150 it is listed for F250 and up. If it will fit by putting the spare in the bed I may get it. My truck is completely stock and I even have the original window sticker, but I am getting tired of this fuel pump issue..
