Angry 2010 F150 evap temp. sensor

Ford Tech. told me today the reason my a/c wouldn't cool is I have a bad evap. temp. sensor and this part was "non-replaceable" the fix is a HVAC Box from ford, for $1493.13(price includes a h/core replacement since dash would already be out) it has 85000 miles 2010 f150 Screw 4x4.is this my only option for repairing my a/c. Thanks Randall

And did he guarantee you that a new part will perform as you expect? I struggled with the A/C on my 2010 for two years and two computer reflashes that resulted in marginal cooling at best. Since some owners report that their trucks get freezing cold, it's always been my contention that the "tolerances" for A/C electronic components are just not tight enough to ensure that they will work together to achieve maximum cooling. As much as I'd like a new truck, there is no way that I will buy another one that cools like my current one. This is the worst vehicle I've owned for A/C, and I've owned a lot (17).

Did it ever cool as it should have? I know a bunch of guys on here and around my area are complaining about a/c issues with the 2009/10 trucks.

Is going to a salvage yard an option for you? Are the parts different from 2010 and newer?
