2012 E250 Fuel filter

2012 E250 Fuel filter
Does anybody have any info on the location of the fuel filter on a 2012 E250 with a 5.4? I had one on the lift at work and when I went to check the filter ( in the location it been in for 10+ years) I was surprised to see nothing
. I traced the lines from the back of the engine to the tank...nada.
Did they go with an in-tank filter or am I blind as a bat?
