Is this a 203???

I thought my lack of lockouts signified a NP203, and I do have a giant cast iron case with a removable front piece. However, my shifter is weird, at least compared to Chevy shifters for 203's

Do ford's not have a unlocked position on the shifter?

going off just the picture of the shifter **** i would say yes it is a 203. your "unlocked will be when it either in high or low. Im not 100% on this but if you dont put the part time kit in you can damage the 4 wheel drive. The 203 gets a bad rap but i think its a good tcase. dont have to get out and lock in the hubs and all the newer cars brag about all wheel drive and your old truck already has it. depending how deep your getting with this truck i would leave it alone and spend the money for when you can find a 205 to replace it with. i have owned 2 trucks with a 203 and i liked them both. just my thoughts.

Be one with the google, lol since I can not post the complete list of my "fav's".

Yes DD pavement rig and a spool do not play well together, so I hear.
