Blend door actuator
I bought this truck used and the guy said it needed a new blend door actuator so I bought a new one off eBay I installed it, plugged the wire back in and turned on the key and it started smoking, it burned up. The wires have been cut before and have been butt connected back together. I notified the place I bought it from and they sent me back a new one but I'm scared it will do it again. Anybody have any ideas what happened?

Verify you have the correct part. If the wires have been cut-n-spliced someone who doesn't know what their doing likely messed up the wiring and its not as per the factory schematic/diagram. If you are apt at reading schematics you can find what you need at the stealership or possibly on line. You could have just had a bad part out of the box, after all look where its made! Do you have a volt meter? You'll need one to do basic trouble shooting to verify the power & ground is going to the right terminal. Also be sure to follow the alignment /removal procedure. You make no mention of year, make and model and if its a dual zone climate control or standard single control, so its hard to zero in for you.
