Here's a thread that (I think) shows a pic of the part you're describing. Does this help?

I found that topic,,
And oddly my valve has no bottom hose/fitting.
It's flat across. I can't find much on the likely hood of these failing
Thanks for your help

The water pump has a weep hole up behind the pulley wheel. The coolant will weep out this hole when the pump starts to fail. You should see some stains on the lower radiator hose when this starts to leak. I would replace the pump & thermostat first and see what that yields. But I believe you still have a hose leak over the drivers side valve cover area because of the initial leak location.

I am fairly sure it a leaking heater control valve over the passenger side valve cover. I moved my truck towards the garage and it was leaking quite a bit. All over the valve cover and down the side of the engine (same area as where I found coolant earlier)

Ha haaa..
It's back.
The leak is indeed from the heater control valve..
The issue is that I have already changed it..
And it's leaking .. They are vented so I am assuming that when something is blocked they release pressure ..
Any ideas of what is going on ?

Got a pic? If it's just the Tee and outside temps are decent, maybe you can replace it with a Tee temporarily?

The tee in the Prestone flushing kit I just used this week specifically says it can be installed permanently.

Well..
there is a reason it is leaking..
I just replaced 1 thinking it failed..
They are Vented, so I am assuming there is a blockage..
But I don't understand the system as a whole

Here's a thread with some discussion about it. See if any of this applies to your situation?

There is some great info there..
Sounds like my same issue (looked like the heater valve)
but was really coming out at the hose and leaking all over the valve..
I will do like they did and change to screw type clamps...

Thanks for the link..
I couldn't find much info and for sure didn't see that topic !

Searches

The inbuilt search engine on this site is not always helpful, like many forums.

Use this format below to use google to search this site (replace 'terms' with whatever terms you want)

http://www.google.com site:ford-trucks.com Terms

I did remember reading something about it, just couldn't remember exactly, so maybe I had an edge on what terms to search for, LOL.

Hope it's as simple as the clamps

Another reason that would be the case is old hoses get a memory and harden into a shape. If they are not put back on in the exact same way, twist, clamps in the same position, etc, they may not seal well.

Good luck!
