Another coolant leak thread

Hey everybody,

The other day, I added a full two gallons of mixed Fleetcharge to my coolant system because I noticed that my coolant level was quite low by looking in the radiator. The expansion tank was also empty and had been for a while. I've been monitoring it, though. There is no fluid mixing and I'm pretty sure it isn't consuming the coolant as I notice no sweet smell in the exhaust.

I did notice a wet spot in the parking lot on the passenger side after making a short trip to do some errands. I traced part of that leak up to the heater core connections. It looked like one or more hoses were leaking at the connection to the heater core. I saw wetness around the heater box area under the hood below the hoses.

What I can't explain is the coolant leaking from the lower passenger rad cradle corner. There is coolant slung around the fan shroud but mostly on the lower passenger side. The lower rad hose to lower block showed signs of weeping as well. I tightened all these hose connections a little more, so I am hoping that is all it is. I still can't explain why the rad cradle was wet other than a possible leak in the radiator.

The block heater looked a little ripe but still dry. The freeze plug next to it looked dry as well. I don't know what else to look at. I know the antifreeze from the heater core area traveled along the frame a little but I don't think that explains all of the different areas of wetness.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I just went out to check on my work and I noticed a leak coming from the upper rad hose to the rad. I tightened that down a little and it seems to have gone away. Let's hope and pray.

After tightening down the upper hose, I went for a drive for about 25-30 miles and everything is bone dry. False alarm. Hope this helps someone.
