So, my shift tube broke the other day. I found the replacement part at Napa and did the swap. Everything lined right up and went back on no problem.
However, now my key will only fully turn back and release if I push up a little extra after it is in park.
Anyone have any ideas as to what could cause this. Or could it be in the line? Is there a way to adjust for any slack?
Thanks for any info folks.
Thanks farmert.
When I reassembled the tube, that back plate only screws into one spot. Not really adjustable at that spot.
Just weird never had this problem before.
Click on Steering System -> Steering Column then under Adjustments click on Transmission Range Indicator to align things up. Don't know if this helps as never had the issue nor did the adjustment.
