I've got a 2004 F350 6.0 PSD. I've had the charge air chamber tube replaced, as it blew off, and then noticed issues with the turbo not spooling?? I took truck back into dealer, and they advised that the turbo needed to be (split) cleaned. That was done, when I left the dealer ship, I still experienced little to no power, and blue/black smoke. Once the engine warmed up some, it seemed to get better. Truck has no mods that I'm aware of.
try cleaning the EGR valve. Anything to read live data like a scan gauge II or Torque pro? They did all that and then gave up? Any code's?
Welcome to the site.
I'm taking it back on Friday, as they were closed when I picked it up. They advised that the checked the EGR, and it "looked" good. I know its throwing codes, but not setting check engine light. Dealer is scanning and clearing. I've read about the Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor, can it cause this??
power loss is such that with my 7000 pound gooseneck stock trailer, truck wouldn't pull out of my drive way engine will not go above 1500 RPM (engine cold). Once it warms up some, and I can hear turbo start whinning, it will pull ok, still question if I've got full power.
Where the MAP sensor is on the Heater core box, Follow the Hose down to the Intake there is a threaded Nipple pull and clean the nipple and little hole in the Intake also take a look at the Hose for splits/cracks, Double check the CAC boots you will have four locations for them 1 under each Battery, 1 off the turbo, 1 in front of the thermostat. The 2 under the Battery's would be a great place to start.
