This is our newly assembled RV / toy hauler. We used to have a 28ft Wanderer that I hated to pull. Sold it and put this together. Not nearly the room, but a lot more fun to camp in. We just got back from her maiden voyage to the Oregon dunes.

Technically, it can be done. Whether it should be done, is an entirely different question. Pretty amazing though. You can tell by how low the rear is, that truck is definitely overloaded.

new tow truck for our 40' sprinter

traded trucks a week ago. got little over 500 miles on it and needed to put camper in another covered storage area. put new tires on the sprinter this morn and took it to the scales before going to new storage area. did some adjusting on reese weight bars. rv dealer didnt bolt the 'chain hangers' to trailer tongue when they set it up several years ago. gonna call keystone and see if i cant drill tongue and bolt the hangers on as they tend to work loose with only the 'set screw' at the top. all seems to be level but would like to tighten chains another link to put more weight on steering axle. front of truck has 'light steering' feel.

Excuse me Mr. Fudd. Did you add the 2nd A/C unit to your sprinter?

yep, dealer did when we bought it. 13000 with heat and air. over front bedroom non ducted of course.

after being in vegas a few years earlier, 100 plus degree on blacktop casino campground in a 30' cougar. no way were we getting another without 2 AC units.

OK cool. We where told a non 50 amp trailer can't add a 2nd unit. Unless I ran air power over roof and down the side to separate 110 circuit. Our Sprinter is not prewired.

Please explain how yours was done or if it's 50 amp trailer.
Thanks

this is 50 amp. im sure it was prewired for power but not for thermostat. operates by ***** on unit. i was told that they just removed existing roof vent, drop unit in, wire to power and button it up. and as i said, its heat and cool.

30 amps is not enough power for two a/c units. You will flip the breaker.

You can run one a/c and usually the fan on the other at a low setting.

Couple pics of our vacation in New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest. Had a great time, as usual.

We were just up there a few weeks ago. I can't get enough of New Hampshire! Where did you stay? Were you dry camping? That's a beautiful truck! From the looks of it she hasn't seen to much of our New England winters??

We are lucky, Exit 32 is under an hour from my door. We stayed at the Jigger, halfway across the Kanc. Yes, no option but to dry camp there but we love that place... nice and quiet with some private sites that sit back a ways. Swift River runs right behind the CG. I use a 100w panel to keep the batteries up, but a lot of the week was overcast so after six days I did have to break out the Honda 2000i for occasional use. I hate listening to generators, so I hate to be 'that guy' , but you can barely hear it outside our site.

Thanks for the compliment. For sure the truck is well above average for an 01 , but it has spent it's life in Pa. and NH. Funny thing is, when I bought it, I was looking for a crew cab .... but everything I found was SO rough. Couldn't bring myself to spend my money on any of the trucks I looked at. I had really only looked at the Ex on a whim, but kept thinking about how nice it was in comparison. Its no virgin, but it does clean up nice. For sure its perfect for us to go camping in....
