I have a 2005 Lincoln navigator and the power mirrors both sides are real slow to move when folding in or out and nearly non working during the cold months...is there a way to service them to get them moving better? They use to move real good but lately not so much.
Sounds like the factory-applied grease has dried up and they are in need of some lubricant. I don't have the power folders, so I don't know if they can be lubed without disassembly. I would think that with the right tools, one could expose the moving parts and spray some lithium grease to improve movement.
Shoot a few squirts of WD-40 into the pivoting areas to see if they move faster. If they do it's a dried grease issue like FoxFord33 said. At that point you can either disassemble, clean, and re-grease them, or you can get a can of spray white or lithium grease and do you best to lube them up without taking them apart.
