My tires are about done I might get the summer out of them and since I've been thinking 4" lift with 35's I want a set of wheels. While looking at winch bumpers last night the one pic had this ford with a nice set of wheels, tried looking but I can't find them so does anybody know?

They're weld mountain crushers unfortunately they don't make them anymore weld quit making all they're good wheels, so the only way your going to find a set is used on like eBay or craigslist. They're is still some nice sets out there even if they look nasty they always seem to polish up real good

Amen to that. This is what I did with my Weld X-Landers. They took a beating on a trip to snow country. This first pic was after they had been washed. Second pic was after some elbow grease.

I want to know what polish did you use to clean those? They came out GREAT!

Thanks

I've always used a metal polish from Meguair's:

My wheels are NOT clearcoated so this is what I use. Sometimes takes a little elbow grease to get some of the caked on brake dust.

I'm sure there's other stuff out there for clearcoated wheels. I have yet to try any of the foam "cones" out there. I'm sure they'd do a better job than my hand.

Those wheels were bare aluminum (no clear coat). I used multiple steps to get them to that point. I used Eagle One NevrDull (wadding polish) until most of the black/grey junk was gone. I then used Mothers Aluminum polish and followed that up with a final round of Mothers Billet polish. It took a while, but turned out amazing. They were like mirrors when I was done with them. All done by hand with microfiber towels.

I normally would have just used Mothers Aluminum polish for upkeep, but it wouldn't take the crud off the wheel. The NevrDull did a fantastic job of getting the big stuff off.

Since clear coat is paint, I treat them as such. I used #7 polishing compound and then a good coat of automotive wax with a Mother's Power Ball. It really keeps the brake dust down and offers good protection from road salt. Still labor intensive, but the ball helps some.

For bare metal, I prefer Simichrome. It is price, but very impressive stuff. It make chrome look like a reflection in glassy water...

I agree, WELD quit making all of the cool badass rims.

Great idea! We used to use that stuff all the time on the ship to polish the brightwork back in the day.
