Cab rear panel repair
I know there are spot welds along the top and bottom which would need to be drilled out. The sides however look to have a bead of weld from top to bottom. What is the best way to get this weld off? Just carefully grind it? I know it is real thin material.
Has anyone done this? I know psquare7575 has but I am looking for some tips before I make a mistake.
I'm pretty sure the panel is spot welded all around and then Ford added seam sealer to (obviously) seal the seams.
Try scraping the bead and see what happens. If its a weld bead, you'll be able to tell.

Here is a close up of the seam inside. It appears to be not welded or seam sealed.
These next two pictures are taken from outside. I have scratched the seam and it seems hard. I may need to get a wire wheel on it to see if it is sealer or weld.
These next two pictures show what the "good" doner panel looks like after I took a wire wheel to it.
I do not see where anyone sells these panels new. It would certainly be easier. It may even be easier to replace only the bottom where the panel meets the floor of the cab where the rust is.
