I went the other way. The 302 in my truck came out of a '72 Mustang. Dude absolutely had to have a 351C, so we pulled the 302 that had just under 500 miles on a fresh rebuild, stuck it on the shelf, and a year and a half later, it ended up in my truck.
Coming up on 20k troublefree miles.

A buddy of mine near here has a '68 Bronco (I think that's the right year) that he has overhauled a 302 out of a '99 Explorer. He wanted the EFI motor for this toy...didn't want to mess with carb should things get a little squirrelly on the trails. Apparently the 4WD Exploders have the right oil pan orientation to clear the front axle for the Broncos. I think some day he might actually get everything put together and drive the pony truck. Only been "working on it" since early 2009.
I can't say much more than that...I've got the Ranchero in the backyard that hasn't moved an inch since spring of 2002. Though the oldest (14 year old) thinks it would make a great first car to drive to school when he turns 16.
Raining here too :-(
The pile of parts for my '61 is growing. New shocks front and rear, a driver's side floorboard replacement panel, left and right cab corners, a kingpin set.
Still to come is the front power disc brake setup and the power steering conversion kit. After that it'll get a new windshield and rubber as well as new rubber for the back glass.
Then I just have to find time to do it all.
In addition to all this, I've got a new rear axle, driveline and transmission setup to install in the wife's '54 Chevy panel truck.
Oh, and I still have to get the front tire on my Harley. Might do that today and get it done.
Would say keep it up that way, but we really don't need anymore coming downriver. Water is still rising and not supposed to crest until Thurs. upstream from us. Not sure how high its going here.

If it was up to me there wouldnt be any rain until mid june. Got part of the front yard mowed yesterday before the rain hit. After it passed it was nothing but sun shine but the yard was soaked. I said screw it & opened the gate & got the for legged lawn mowers out.

All I can say is that I hope that some of this soaks in before it gets to the rivers. There is water standing in high spots, crazyness.
Thankfully I sprayed about 80% of the yard that I mow earlier this spring, so its still a manageable height.

I actually mowed part of my place in Mt Holly in the rain yesterday, haven't had time between showers and it had gotten about knee high.
We're having scattered showers here today and the weather guessers are forecasting heavy rain for tonite and tomorrow. Still wondering who pissed off Ma Nature.
Tried to mow a little today, but it was like trying to mow a pond while driving on a sponge. Did less than 1/2 an acre and said heck with it.
Hey! At least you didn't get into the predicament of someone I saw this morning. Looked like he got the Exmark mower stuck, then the Suburban and then the tractor all in a line. Almost felt sorry for him, but hey, it was a Chevy. ;-)
I'm still trying to figure out how much rain we got last night...but the first flash flood warning came in about 2345; the weather guessers sent another one out about 0515 (the alert went off with the alarm). There was enough water moving through the yard that it forced the gates open on both my backyard & the neighbor's. We've got one of those 40-ish gallon trash cans that a side arm trash truck picks up. That was forced into the back yard against the back fence & a bunch of crap piled around it. The debris is about 6" high...so I'm guessing at one point it was about that high. For the record, we've lived in this house 15 years and I've never seen evidence of that much water moving through the yard. This crap keeps up, I might be moving to Moro Bay, at least the changes in level aren't that rapid.

Generally I try not to laugh at others misfortune...but you can't fix stupid.
Sounds like you got hammered Zack. Come on down and bring the camper..... oh wait, State Park is probably going to be closed for the holiday weekend due to high water. :-(
Hope the rest of the week is dry. I need to drag out some parts that I swapped for a 7.3 Powerstroke and E4OD. The Allison grenaded in my C750 and I can't seem to find a replacement I can afford, so it looks like I'll be swapping to the PSD as soon as I gather the rest of the parts. As soon as I have the PSD running on it's chassis it will be time to put the 391 4v up for grabs.
I really can't wait to be driving this truck again.
Talking to the neighbor (FSPD)...their dispatch is telling them between 0001 and 0100 just over 2.5 inches of rain came down. No wonder why my yard looks like the bottom of a creek.

State parks...especially those with moderate to large bodies of water near by (lakes)...during holiday weekends; I avoid them like the plague. I have nothing against folks drinking a beer or two; it's the idiots that get hammered that I can't stand. Thus I avoid parks on holiday weekends. Besides, if my background check shows up at my new employer...I might be moving a man cave this weekend.

Now your talking! The dark side has claimed another one!
In stock form...I'm willing to bet you'll do better in fuel economy with that 7.3L mill than the 391 could have dreamed of. Too bad the 5R110W (slush box behind the 6.0L and 6.4L) won't bolt up to the 7.3L....just for the extra gear on the top end to slow the RPM down on the motor. As well as braking coming down hills...I love it when I'm dragging trailers.
Believe me, I have no desire to hang around a bunch of drunks. I was once one of them, but didn't drink at all for over 20 years and only have an occasional drink socially now.
Water has crested! We still have a small piece of dry ground, very small. Hopefully the water will start falling soon. My garden has drowned, maybe it can be replanted.
