friend of mine died a few months back, his son got his bronco, has to sell it, wish i could buy it. 70, 428 stroker, aluminum eledbrock performer heads, performer intake, roller cam, .600 lift, roller rockers, T10 top loader, currier 9" rear end, rebuilt steering box, manual, locker in rear, dana 30 front with power-loc, full soft top, BFG 33" X 12:50 tires, like new. selectro hubs, straight, no rust, also has like new back seat, full roll cage, 4" lift, NO RUST, dent in passengers rocker panel. this thing has turned mid 12's in the 1/4 mile a few times, was his daily driver. i feel its worth $16,000.00. 4 or 5 thousand dollar paint job and what a beast to drive. im trying to help him out, i sold a 71, 351 windsor, 4" lift, otherwise stock, dent in rear quarter, no back seat, hard top, everything worked and people were fighting over it for $8,000.00. thoughts on what im expecting out of it.
It's really hard to price something like that. You can never get your money out of it. That said, I paid about $6000 for my Bronco about 13 years ago. It was not rust free (but neither are most other "rust free" vehicles). And it wasn't built much at all. It did have a Dana 44 front axle, and a 6" lift, as well as nice 33/12.50 - 15 BFG Mud Terrains. So over a decade later a built "rust-free" vehicle for $8000 sounds like it's "priced to sell." IF you found the right buyer you might be able to get maybe $12,000 - $15,000 for it, but it might take a LONG time to sell at a price like that.
Have to agree with the $12K price. While it does have some nice parts, the Dana 30 and overall appearance is killing the sale value. Might have a different opinion if I seen it in person, but going by pic's, it just looks like an older build trail rig. The people paying big bucks are the ones wanting a nice shiny toy.
Nice old Bronco. What I see is what was said above. Also no hard top, what appears to be holes where trim used to be that were patched and a fiberglass hood.Throw in the fact you stated it has run mid 12 quarters makes me think it has been thrashed. Might not want to mention that fact when talking to a potential buyer. I say 12 grand is on the high end. If I was looking to buy I would offer 8 depending on how it actually runs, how clean it is underneath, how the 4x4 works. And might go up to 10 if I didnt have to fight to get the transfer case to go between 2 wd 4 hi 4 low. But 10 would be my highest.
To clarify what I said before, if I were selling it I'd ask somewhere between $8000 and $15000 depending on my situation. If I needed to sell it soon and wasn't worried about leaving money on the table I'd ask $8000 and expect it to go pretty quick. If I didn't care about it sitting in my garage for a while and I wanted to get all i could out of it I'd ask around $15,000 and expect to have to come down quite a bit when the right buyer eventually showed up. If I didn't have all the time in the world but had some time and wanted to try to get a few more bucks, maybe $10,000.
On the other hand, if I was buying it's a lot harder to say what I'd pay. I'd have to compare it to everything else I was looking at (and I'm not looking right now). But that just means I'm not the "right buyer".
well his son, the one who got it, had been texting me 20 time a day so i told him to sell it himself. maybe he will get $6,000.00, hes in a real hurry, hey the money is already spent. thats what happens when a kid gets a mans toy, well some body will be getting a good deal.
You FEEL it's worth $16,000.
Wow! LOL! Nice engine? Yes. Disc brakes? No. Dana 44? No. Fuel injected? No. Winch? No. Original? No. Nice paint? No. Relatively straight? Yes. Relatively rust free? Yes. T10 Toploader? Let's hope not, LOL!
I could see someone that just HAD TO HAVE an early Bronco paying $8,000, but even that is a bit overpriced. IMO.
Start @ $2,000 around here. Then urban/rural, need 4 speed in-the-deal, who's askin/who's sellin, etc, etc. I'd say $5 - 8K is reasonable in this case if "not rusty"...
Good Luck, let us know how U do!
Hotrod351 - if possible, see if you can come up with enough to buy it off you friends son. I think it would always have a lot of sentimental value for you, and you CAN'T put a price on that.
