engine fail

Hello, I have a 2011 eco boost 3.5. well I was driving it made a big bang/ puff noise then the no oil psi came on and runs like its on 2 or 3 cly. oil is leaking heavily on the passenger side of engine looks like by the turbo but to hard to see past engine mount. pulled the plugs and did compression check passenger side front cly 0 next cly 110 last 110, drivers side front 135 next 125 and last 120. any insight would be of help. deep down I know the engine is nfg . was this a turbo fail . are engine swaps hard to do on the f150 .

Sounds like a broken rod or maybe a dropped valve. I'd say there is a 99% chance it is toast. Zero compression (especially in one hole) and oil spewing are not a promising set of symptoms.

My best guess from here would be ..No.
It's more likely something broke in the engine.
I would guess stuck injector before a turbo.

Oil could be coming out a crack/hole in the block.

Hi. the reason I was thinking turbo is dash gage say no oil PSI ,you put oil in and it pores out the passenger side up by the turbo when running can't see up there to well and the passenger side clys are 0 110 and 110 well the drivers side is 135 125 and 120, if turbo lost oil psi maybe shrapnel from the turbo went though the passenger cly banks. I think this weekend I put a wooden chop stick down the spark plug hole on cly 0 to see if the piston is going up and down and if so put the plugs back in and add some oil and watch from under the truck well some one else starts it to get a better idea where the oil loss is. There is no nock in the engine. dose the turbo have a oil line to it that could fail. I am old school and have been out of the auto trade since 1999. all this new technology is very interesting but not at the expense of my wallet LOL. Injector was mentioned, could it lose compression .

Yes, the turbo has an oil line. It could have failed.... but blowing shrapnel all the way through the CAC seems unlikely.... so does shrapnel going through the block... but that may be more likely.

You could also have a stuck valve.... some folks say the Eco can have an issue with carbon build up on the valve stems.... but that would not explain oil loss.

Good luck with it and let us know what you find.

Sounds like and oil line but I'm concerned about 0 compression.

I would put a small mirror on a stick up behind the turbo and look inside the hole, sounds like there is a window in the block, created by the broken rod. I hope I am wrong, I have a hard time believing a bad injector would cause this kind of a problem, hope you figure it out!

Thinking hydro lock/broken rod.
My guess is cracked block also.

He says it runs without any knocking.. must have jammed the piston up in there pretty good.

Hopefully we are wrong and he can repair instead of replace.

That's what makes it unlikely to be oil or turbo related. About the only way the OP doesn't need a new engine is if he screwed up the compression test, and I don't think you can screw it up that badly.

My post was hopeful thinking more than anything and I'm afraid that you are correct.
