The 428cj had the same 14 bolt exhaust pattern as the 390gt, as a matter of fact they are the same heads. I like headers. Quality headers with a coating will look good for years and give better perf. than cast iron manifolds.

CJ exhausts use the diagonal bolt pattern very similar to the GT except for the driver's side at the rear where it uses the vertical bolts. In addition, the top vertical bolt hole is in the "standard" location, not like the GT heads where the top end bolts are lowered. CJ heads were 16 bolt, 8 bolts in the "standard" locations and 8 bolts in the diagonal position. GT heads were 14 bolt, 8 bolts in the diagonal position and 6 bolts in the vertical position with the top end bolts lowered.

Can you tell me where I can buy a good set of ceramic coated headers to clear the starter on my 71 f100 4x4 390 ci.??? All the ones I have seen require you to remove the headers to remove the starter.
