BULLER BULLER lol
so out of 55 plus people viewing this not a single one has a 1997 or newer van ? an can snap a pic if their rear suspension ?
yes i have looked all over google but still to no avail
You might contact member ATS Junior who is a sponsors here on FTE----his outfit seems to sell suspension parts. I have 2 E250's which doesn't help you, don't know anyone with an E350.
BTW Beuller has the day off, just sayin' ..................
It's about 5 I think, thick wide leaves, but being ext, it's not bad, the front was worst, but I had bags in the coils pumped to 30 PSI, before they rotted, I was trying to stop it from getting the wheelchair lift lean, when entering/exiting break down the suspension on the corresponding side. Fords have always ridden better loaded, it's why they were sought out by farmers, the rear springs would carry a lot of weigh, god bless my grandfather, it was often a curse, as many would have far more stuff in the truck than it was ever intended to hold, where GM would bottom out, the Ford would hold that times 10.
Mine is a 99 E350 Super Duty Extended with a high top with a GVWR of 9100lbs.. It used to be a wheelchair shuttle, so I have no idea if they are OEM springs. Mine has 4 leaves per side. Yours is a one ton van, it won't be too soft of a ride if empty.
There used to be a shackle device sold that softened up the ride when unloaded, but I just can't seem to recall the name of it, when unloaded it gave a torsion effect, I don't know how to look it up, where to find it.
when i bought this van it has no sway bar bushings left and it had some air bags inside the front springs.. well i got the new bushings in the sway bar area and i cut out and removed the airbags as the front was WAY too hard vs stock and i am thinking maybe there is an overload spring in the back and who ever installed it didn't do a good job as the spring order looks all messed up
I just don't know in your case, why would the previous owner have done that, would be bad if you went to the trouble to remove them only to have the rear sagging due to being broken down. Come cut my rotten bags out for me. LoL
