It all depends on your budget first, then your expectations of use.

What gears/tires are you planning on running so you can determine your RPM operating range so you can determine the cam you need. Just know up front you need a "dual grind" with a longer exhaust duration.

You don't have your license???
Sit down, pencil it out kiddo. You are looking for a lot of work and you need way more information. Usually, people who have offroad vehicles with 44" tires don't drive down the freeway, its noisy, expensive, and most can't even go that fast. The bigger tires you run, the more torque you need, like 4:10's or 4:56's, resulting in a lower top end speed.
Trust me, I was a kid not long ago, I went through this same stage. I finally gave up and haven't looked back. I don't see why you want a lot of power if you aren't gonna race it or something. Not to mention, are you aiming for horsepower or torque?
Dartagnan is right, this stuff gets technical, you are going to need to have specifics and data before you can do a rebuild. Personally, I don't like rebuilds, I don't trust them, especially ones that have been bored (just my opinion)
Hang out here for a while, and see what you really want to do with it.

I figure if I rebuild it, then I know everything about the engine. Do it right and it will be better than factory, with a lot more power too. I would not be scared of a bored 460. I've never heard of anyone having problems with one bored up to 0.060, let alone just 0.030 or 0.040. They got a lotta meat on 'em. You will need more specifics about your intended usage as well as budget before we can make rec's.

well i have a summer job (im 14) and i make 300 a week so if i work this summer and next summer it should be about 2500? also the usage will be general street driving and some off roading. i'll probably stick with 40 inch tires.

The basics are, more compression about 9.5:1, decent heads either yours reworked or others, moderate cam in the 220 intake duration at 0.050 range with .500-.550 lift, good dual plane intake Stealth or E-bok RPM, and headers.

According to a friend of mine, Groundhawgs have the best asphalt manners of the big mud tires, and they have a great life span. I'm thinking of putting a set of 40's on my other truck once I get it street legal (HA!). $2500, eh? Well, that'll buy the tires, wheels, and maybe the intake for your 460. Gears, installed, front and rear, will probably run you another 800-1000 bucks. $2500 for a rebuild at home is pretty doable, though. Figure 7-10 bucks for every hp you want and start saving and planning. You've got a lot of work cut out for you. I dig that you're starting so young and not getting into the F&F phase. Welcome to the forum.

Also since your a new driver a small lift and 35's and a stock motor you'll have enough fun keepin that on the road. You shoud try to get a truck with a 300 6 cylinder because they are tourquey and some what efficent. I'm 17 and I have 2 trucks because even though I make $300 I cant afford to drive the big truck (78 F-150, 4" skyjacker, 35" unirovals and 351M (but soon to be 460)) every day build a truck for a toy and have an effiecent one (like a ranger) to drive daily im speaking from experience because 8 mpg sucks. Just tryin to steer ya in the right direction
