I have a 2012 Lariat that has all the options except moon roof and GPS. I am currently at 96,000 miles and need to do something quick. Trade value right now is 30-32,000. Can someone tell me what will happen to my trade value if I let it go to 129,000 or maybe even 149,000?
Your 5yr/100,000 mile basic warranty will go away. If something important breaks you would be on the hook for it. Plenty of posts on FTE from mad owners with 100,100 miles on their recently broken trucks that are mad as all heck because Ford won't stand behind their just out of warranty product. Just a risk you are now accepting.
You left out way too much info to get a price. You say all options except moonroof and gps. Does that mean you have the Ultimate package, a regular Lariat, 4WD, CC, and so on.
I can tell you this though. On a 2012 Lariat with a tick under 100K, your trade numbers are way off, so don't be shocked when a dealer offers you far less than you say it's worth.
Go to KB or Edmunds and enter those miles. It'll give the amount based on those miles vrs. todays date for age.
I have done this and Edmunds says I will only loose another 5k, but that doesn't take into account a newer model being available or other possible factors.

Yeah, I would definitely buy an extended warranty for the engine.

It is a Lariat CC 4wd and these are actual offers by dealers in addition to almost 10K off the sticker of a new one.
One other thing to consider, I think the 2015s and 2016s being the last of the metal trucks will soon be considered classics. The power is great and the troubles seen in the 2011s seem to be gone.
If you sell in a few years, you will be buying an early new model and all the bugs and issues that will need to be sorted. If you buy now, your next truck will be a 2019/20 or so. Skipping all the new truck bugs and troubles. Plus the 2017s are going to cost more than an equal 2015/16.
I don't leave the 6.7L area too much but if FTE creates a 2017 F250/350/450 area for the 2017s, I'll certainly be reading the threads about people ordering new trucks, waiting a long time to get them, and all the happiness and pictures once delivered. After this, the new area will get more interesting.
Keep in mind that whatever you get from any of the online trade estimators is probably 10-20% more then a dealer will give you. Dealers use different guides.
And trade value will be based on how much you pay for a new vehicle. Pay MSRP and the dealer will offer an enticing trade value.
Well, I can tell you that when I traded my 12 CCSB Lariat 4x4 with camper pkg, wheel well liners, no Nav, no sunroof, no tailgate step, no heated seats with 55K on the clock on my ordered 2015 I was given $38,500 in trade with almost $12,000 off the price of the new truck.
Best of luck with your decision.

In your situation, is it feasible to outright sell the truck? You'll get more money for it and have a better bargaining position buying the New one, instead of haggling over what the dealer is willing to give you for the trade and what you will pay for the new truck, you're just negotiating the new truck price.

If you sell it this way just make sure you add the tax savings that you would get through trading into the selling price.
The longer you hold on to it the less it will be worth. Once the 16 MY starts hitting the lots it will drop some more. Also supply and demand has a huge effect on your trade value. If your dealer is sitting on several trucks similar to yours they will put less in it. If they don't have any used, they generally will put more in it. I would 100% get rid of hit before the warranty expires.
