Over here I can get one at the local parts store like NAPA. But I think Mid-Fifty, Dennis Carpenter, Mac's, etc. should have them and could ship one to you.

I'd recommend this one, has several good features not usually available from the other vendors.

I give up: what is a "kit through the carby". I can't help you find one if I don't know what it is!

i can tell you its hard enough navigating my way around this site....
i am and my truck are currently located in adelaide.
Probably by the end of the year ill be sending her to sydney where im originally from and i have a bit of space to bring her back to her glory.
I bought her from a guy who had imported her from New Orleans.
I have the import papers and will have to go through the process of registering it.
It runs really good, blows no smoke but there is a problem with the carby/ choke and also the 6 volt on it. i have someone coming on saturday to have a look.
id love to get it running and just have a bit of fun before i rebuild her.
As we all know the brakes are drum and that in itself is very scary.
any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
Nick

Pity you aren't closer mate, I'd gladly help you get her running sweetly. Drum brakes are fine if in good condition and properly adjusted. I tow my 2 ton ski boat with a 67 Jeep Gladiator on 4 wheel drums and it stops really well.

im a little out of my comfort zone here being in SA. i have access in sydney to a full equiped workshop and my father inlaw is a ford mechanic. he wont be over for a few months, thats why ill be sending her back by christmas but id love to have a bit of fun. my 6th great grandfather emigrated to the US from england in 1830 and ive had a fascination with US cars all my life, ive owned mustangs , corvettes, but when sitting down with my little boy watching that movie cars, i just knew i had to have a " mater " well sort of.

I see your in Victoria which isnt too far, thats where i bought her from and i towed her back here.

ill keep ya posted

Since F1's were also available as a Cab & Chassis, F1 does not decode to pickup, it only decodes to F1 Conventional Cab.

In fact, 1972 was the first year that the series code (1st 3 digits of the VIN), decoded to a pickup.
