Trans Problems

Ok, so I have made a name for myself for not knowing this engine too well, and I keep learning. Anyways, I am about to replace a clutch, throw out bearing, flywheel, and pressure plate. The current one has some springs somewhere along the line, still trying to figure out where, and one I believe has snapped and has caused the tranny and or motor to pick up some viboration at about 65mph plus at around 2250rpm plus. Also, when in neurtral and run it up to 1250 or 1500rpm there is a violent shake that does change with the rpm. Dad said he has had this problem and knew what to order, he said that he ordered something without the springs in it and a single piece flywheel. We are rebuilding this 96 to try and get it in excellent running condition.

Sounds like you have a duel mass fly wheel that is about to fly apart. And you are correct about needing to upgrade to the single mass fly wheel. Most around here run a valair clutch. They offer different clutches depending on horse power ratings and such what kind of mods are you planing on?

This is the clutch/flywheel etc that I ordered. I don't plan on going very big with the mods. Sticking an exhaust and intake and then work from there. I won't be doing anything like injectors or turbo upgrades and if so I would not drive the **** out of it.
