won't start
I'm new to this forum but I just recently blew head gaskets on my 96 f150 303 5.0 and I replaced them I have it all put together I turned the engine by hand to make sure the push rods could spin but it won't start I was woundering if it matters what way the distributer is in I got it to tdc and threw it in but the engine doesn't sputter or choke it cranks but won't turn on

There are two TDC's in the firing cycle. Make sure you have it at TDC on top of the compression stroke. And then once you have it running, set the timing with a light with the spout connector removed to 10-12* BTC
