I am in search of what appears to be a mystical item. I would like to undercoat my X with white rubberized undercoating. I have googled my butt off and only found it available in Europe. I know I could do black and topcoat it, but it seems easier to do it in 1 step. I only plan on doing the underside of the body with white, my X is white and it would just look right. The frame will be the usual black. Has anyone ever run into it or be able to suggest a similar product?
I would strongly advise you not to put undercoating on your Ex. Mine was done around 6 years ago I'm guessing and it's peeling off bad and it's really rusty underneath. I think it holds in the moisture causing more rust. Speaking from experience it's not worth it. Maybe a rust converter or fluid film would be better option.
I had considered fluid film and figured undercoating would be more permanent. Maybe I should reconsider. The good thing is that I'm not trying to hide/cover up rust. Mine is very clean underneath and I'm trying to keep it that way.

Best thing you can do then is wash/rinse the undercarriage religiously and drive it regularly.
I've read and heard great things about fluid film. Another inexpensive option I read about was using bar/chain oil (meant for chainsaws). Google it and surprise yourself at what you find. Very inexpensive and works well for coating metal and not flinging off. Just have to park on your neighbors driveway for a week after you do it...

Hahaha, I love it. Inexpensive, easy to get and work with, plus my neighbours driveway is all gravel. So he wont mind the additional grass and weed control.
If you decide to go with your original thought, Plasti dip makes coatings that can be colored or clear, and they come in 5 gal pails... not sure how it would last long term, though.
I read quite a bit on fluid film, it seems to be a lot more beneficial to use that then to use bar oil/motor oil. I'd hate to turn the bottom of my bus into a greasy-oily mess. The fluid film can be power washed off. I'll get it don't before winter.
