300 4x4 with automatic?
Every 300 I6 truck with four wheel drive I've ever seen has had a manual transmission.
Did the 73 - 79 (up to 96 for that matter really) 300 4x4 trucks only come with manual? Any factory automatics?
Probably a stupid question, but I'm just curious.

In that era you could order almost anything you wanted. I know for a fact if you wanted radio delete,bumper delete, it was no problem. So I am sure there were auto 6 cylinder (300 and 240) varieties available.

I was under the impression that all these trucks came from the factory with no rear bumper, or mirrors. They were installed at the dealer. My '79 still has the lic. plate bracket and light on the rear bed crossmember installed from when there was no bumper on the truck, it was originally a radio delete truck as well. It was a really weird optioned truck.

Now that I think about it I am pretty sure there is a member on here with a Highboy that has a 300/C6 combo. not sure if it was original though. I cannot remember his username

most 300's i have seen have the 4 or 5 speed with them or the 3 on the tree, but i don't really look for 300's mosly 390's
