In that era you could order almost anything you wanted. I know for a fact if you wanted radio delete,bumper delete, it was no problem. So I am sure there were auto 6 cylinder (300 and 240) varieties available.

I was under the impression that all these trucks came from the factory with no rear bumper, or mirrors. They were installed at the dealer. My '79 still has the lic. plate bracket and light on the rear bed crossmember installed from when there was no bumper on the truck, it was originally a radio delete truck as well. It was a really weird optioned truck.
