I have a 2008 F150 4x4. Recently I had the drivers side coil spring break. Took it to my local Ford dealer and they replaced the coil springs on both sides. They did not replace the shock insert.
After getting my truck back it seems to be riding really rough. Bumps make the CD player skip now. Never used to do that. The truck only has 60k on it.
Do these spring need a break in time to allow for a smoother ride? Should the shock insert be replaced? Should I take it back to the dealer and have them look at it again? Something just doesn't seem right to me.
you might talk to the dealer and ask them what the spring rate is.... there are 2-3 different springs depending on what motor, long bed, short bed, load rating the truck is....... Picture taking springs that were made for a heavy duty F250 and putting in a lighter duty F150........ is this what your feeling ? (Im not saying they put F250 springs in your truck, just an example to give you an idea).
Check tire pressure anytime somebody else touches your truck for any reason. Assuming original size tires, set cold pressures by the door jamb sticker. Also assuming normal miles, you probably are ready for shocks.
