If you see my thread in the Mod Engine section I have a noise that showed up after I fixed the phaser noise with a lockout kit, well I pulled the pan after cutting my filter open and finding the whole filter plugged with babbit, and found my rear most main bearing is SMOKED, it was pretty quiet for being that bad! Anyways I am in the market for an engine now and after weighing my options I found another, My local dealer has short block p/n 5L3Z-6009-AA it shows up under an 05 f150 but not an 04? Does anyone know if it will interchange with the rest of my motor? I am starting to believe the 04 in their online catalog is a heritage model (2v). Can anyone note any differences in 3v motors from 04 to 05?
Any help is appreciated! BTW I just bought this truck a few weeks ago with 120k on it. It must have been beaten to **** by the p/o!
But the F150 was also a split year in 2004 with the old body being the heritage model with the 2v Just confirmed my guess was correct and the price on a short block is $973.87 From AutoNation Ford In white bear lake, Mn. Down the street from me and cheaper than tasca.

Which body style do you have? As I mentioned, the 3V is in the new 2004 body.
New body style (04-08) but the ford catalog online 2004 only shows the heritage models not the new body models. So all the engine
Parts I was looking up were 2v, so I switched it to a 2005 and started seeing 3v parts. Get what I am saying now?
I have a 3v and am wondering if there is any differences from the 2004 5.4 3v to the 2005 5.4 3v regarding the block and pistons

I'm sorry sir, I understand. I'd go with the 2005 part numbers.
