5.4 3v Long block compatability
I'm new to the forum and I've been searching around here trying to figure out which long blocks are compatable with each other. I recently got a good deal on an 04 F150 FX4 but it has a blown engine. Ideally, a remanufactured long block would be the way to go I know, but with college costs I just can't afford them. My question is, what long blocks are comparable with the 04 F150 and what would need done? If I have read the threads thoroughly enough, 04-06 would work fairly simply, 07-08 with a little work, what about 09-10? I have a 2010 f-250 5.4 vin 5 I could purchase but Im unable to find on here how easily I could use that new of a motor in my 04? Any pointers on the compatability and swapping involved would be greatly appreciated.
