have you tried rerouting the PCV to the vacuum tree at the top of the manifold? There's a lot of threads on here about that very procedure and why it's done, if you haven't already read them.

I used Vasoleine for the o-rings when I installed new injectors on my 90 Bronco 5.0. Its ok to goob the crap out of them because as soon as fuel its the vaso it melts away. Worked very well

OOoohhhh, vasoline while it seems like a good idea, eats the rubber o-rings over time, also it doesn't freeze well.
Believe it or not, KY jelly works really well, and you need much less of it to do the job.

engine oil works too. Essentially any lubricant that doesn't break down the rubber o-rings. Some of the newer injectors have a plastic o-ring, or a teflon o-ring, but most of the older ones are just boring old rubber.
