4x4 Low - problems
Hello,
'94 F150, 5.0, 5 spd., 4x4 w/lockouts and lever on floor.
Instructions say "Push down on lever and pull back" to engage 4x4 Low.
Lever does not push down at all !!
It works fine between 2wd and 4x4 high.
But will not push down and back.
Any ideas ?
Please advise.

4x4 Low - problems
Well, the 88' F-250 we have has a similar problem. My dad never uses 4 wheel low, and never puts it in just to keep everything nice and lubed (don't ask why..??)..anyway, the lever will only shift between 2H and 4H, you can't move the shifter any other way. When i drove the truck, and tried to put it into 4 wheel low, I couldn't and brought it to his attention and he said all he had to do was lubricate the shifter to get it to move. Now i've never looked at the linkage and what its all about, but maybe you can lubricate yours, maybe not, just an idea.
Primary rig is:
95' F-150 EB 300/6 5 spd with 4" Superlift, MSD, Ram Air, Gibson Exhaust, 32" BFG Muds
Then theres:
88' F-250 Superduty 351 + c6
92' Thunderbird 3.8L V-6 FOR SALE!
95' Mercury Cougar 4.6L V-8
80' E-350 300/6 and a
3 spd column shifter baby.
The newest addition to the Ford family is a 99' Mustang GT 4.6L
