I have a 1997 F350 7.3 with standard xmission. Have not messed with it since Oct of last year. Then it would crank but no start. Now when I turn the key there is no wts or nothing the gauges move, and tach moves when crankng, but nothing else.
The cam and crank pos sensors have been changed. The high pressure sensors changed. Now when I hook it to the AE it says cannot connect to truck.
Any one know where I need to start? Have checked all fuses that I know about.
Not sure about fuel to the heads but there is 25 or 35 pounds at the fuel filter.
The batteries are fully charged, there is 12 volts on the red wire at the pcm. I am down to the diode is bad or the pcm on the trouble shoot guide. The pcm was only 2 months old when the truck quit running.
Not sure how to test high pressure oil on this thing. The AE does not have a hpop sensor reader on it.
ICP is the HPOP pressure. How long does it take to build up to 2561 psi? What does the ICP duty cycle % (IPR) do while cranking?
25 - 35 psi at the fuel filter is a little low, but the truck should still start up at that point. Is there any chance there is a rebuilt HPOP in the truck?
You almost need to test the volume of oil coming out of the HPOP. The rebuilt units seem to fail in a manner that allows it to build pressure, but doesn't have the volume required for the truck to run.
Disconnect the line from the head and stick it in a jar with plenty of rags on top. Crank while holding the hose. You'll either get a, holy cow that's a lot of oil, or it will just barely dribble out. If it just dribbles out, you need a new HPOP
