Hey so was driving home and my dash shut off and motor then came back on. Thought to my self hmm not good. Then she did it again. Then thought well that will be hard to find if it only does it two times. I will fix it when it happens more would be easier to find. Then off and coasting down the road. Now on the side of the road. lol so yea. But from what I can till now it seems like my pcm is not getting power. I was able to crank and get it fired then shuts down and will crank but keeps kicking the starter out. Now it will not crank lift pump not running and injectors not doing there pretty firing sound. I don't have anything to check fuses wi th me just going to tow it to my shop and look at it tomorrow. But has any one had this issue befor and the fuse panel is not label at all so is there print out I can get of that? I'm a diesal tech so I'm not really to worried. Just wonder if this has happened to any one befor. Thanks for any help you can give. O and can't pull codes or Talk with my sct programmer so makes me think.ecm no power or fried
You can download for free your owners manual from Ford. It has the 2 charts for both fuse boxes.
Several fuses and relays for FICM and PCM in both boxes.
Fuse 12 under dash box the cigar lighter and DLC connector share that circuit.
If overall batt voltage drops below 8v nothing will work right. PCM;FICM;Starter.
Ok checked all the fuses and relays all tested good and had power to them all. But one trailer brakes lol so it good I found that was sick of no trailer brakes. But back to the point. So I started checking the harness for rub spots and when I pulled on the harness were it goes by the oil and fuel filter the injectors did there buzz test and lift pump kicked in and started up ran fine......... so pulled the intake off and opened the harness up and looked I didn't find any rubbed wires. The only thing I did find is were it plugs in to the egr valve the wires were rubbed though a little but I have it laying on the intake. I have a block off plate on the intake and in a sct tune with egr shut off. Now I can't get it to act up... like allways lol but any think the egr wiring could short it out to make it lose power to the ecm? Thinking that's a prityy little chance?
