f250 LD - slipping ?

f250 LD - slipping ?
My 1998 f250LD has a hesitation problem. 5.4 Engine is running smooth and strong, but it feels like the transmission is slipping. The RPMs do not increase when the slipping/hesitation occurs. Possible Torque converter issue? Looking for a good mechanic near Chino Hills, Ca.

Thx for the reply. I agree, but don't have clue. I hade 2 engine codes, but I replaced all coil packs and now have only one (fixed misfire). I fixed the 2nd code, PO174 3 years ago by replacing the mass airflow sensor, tried this again but the code remains. The hesitation occurred before I made any changes.
