I have an 03 exp xlt. This model does not have the overhead console or DVD player. I bought the DVD player, pulled the headliner down but cannot find the future wiring to hook it up. Are the wires up there or am I going about this all wrong?
I'm not familiar with the 03 wiring, but I know that in previous years, wiring for the trip computer was only provided if the option was ordered. Several guys on here went to put in trip computers, only to find that they needed a whole laundry list of wiring looms.
I just picked up an 03 Eddie Bauer 2 days ago. It did not come with the DVD already installed but they are putting it in tomorrow (the one that comes with a Sony Playstation too) -
I am assuming that the wiring must be there and they don't plan on re-routing a/c ducts, etc. to get it in....I could be wrong but can't believe there are that many different designs - the secret is probably in getting the right pigtail to plug into the harness...
Dealer installed Rear Entertainment DVD System comes with a harness in the box. You have to cut the headliner and install brackets, and install the wiring loom from the DVD across the headliner, down the right A pillar, under the dash to the radio, and uses an FM modulator inline with the radio antenna.
