I got out this morning and started tinkering cleaned the corrosion from the cap and rotor read tps voltage .98 looked over all the vacuum lines no dice on it running better. So I grabbed the 1/2 inch and loosened the distributor gave it a good twist. There you have it? Revs and runs good drives down the road. Still needs a few degrees of timing but truck takes off pretty solid. Now on to the brakes. I wonder if I should have the new rotors drilled for 5 on 4.5? A set of 03 cobra wheels would look sweet on there.

That should been an obvious one for me, I'm gad to hear it was just a simple issue though and nothing serious.

I think the distributor has a short in it I put it back to where it was after I gave it the big twist and it was fine so if it acts up again it's getting replaced.

I checked the timing a few days ago 10 degree base timing.

I fought with my 1 ton for a week so I back burnered this truck. Now today i got back to it.

I couldn't find the reason why the brakes pulsed when you hit them. Well I bet that's it. The liners came loose from the shoe and were rotating inside the drum.

Does anyone make an aluminum driveshaft for these trucks? Also kicking around the idea of an Eaton m122 on this truck after I build the 353 cu. In. Mill. Or I may throw the turbo kit to it. But the s trim is going on my daughter's mustang. And the wife's mustang looks to be getting a 427 cu in stroker for the ease of daily driving. It's just less parts to wear out.

It's been awhile since I've been on this thread. Work kids bachelor parties weddings... been a busy few months. I did get the rear brakes finished. But have not tested them. I have a full few weeks ahead daughters birthday. Nmra in bowling Green. Nhra gateway. Local cruise nights... but I promise to get this thing road worthy soon. I want to see just what it will do. I would love to put a slightly bigger stall in it but I can manage with this one. I still need to hook the laptop to the mass air meter and look at the flow rates and compare that to the afr logs vs rpm and tweak the meter. But I wont be able to finalize it until the thing is on the road

I haven't been able to get f150 out of the garage. I have a mustang in the way. But I am having a good time with it.

So it's been forever since I did an update. As with most things life happens but I have been slowly getting on the truck. I have bought new tires new front brakes rotors wheel bearings... still haven't gotten the exhaust finished. A new problem has cropped up. The truck will start run good the shut off and not refire. I am suspecting the tfi module. I just have not had the time to look into it much. But I will be very soon. I need to put my 1 ton down for a rebuild and build up. Thinking of twin turbos and a set of stage 2 injectors and full fuel and oil system. Body work, lowered bed rail, f650 hood, 6 door + extended cab for the stereo? That's where I am thinking on that gotta get the body parts together for that yet. I also want to switch to 99-03 electronics and 4r100 tranny. Gotta ditch the stick. Soooo tired of left footing.
