Wires chewed through..... Again!

I have got to move out of the woods...

Squirrels chewed through both fuseable links going to the starter solenoid on the passengers firewall. Also, on both sides of a connector just above it and near the heater blower (I believe).

I've attached a picture but it was late and not sure you can make it out well.

My question is where do I get the fuseable link and can i just crimp it in?

Also, what is that connector to? Three wires in and out.

Thanks for the help guys.

Animal shelter ... Adopt a few cats . Larger young cats will do the trick ....
Oh , repair the wiring while at it . You can buy fuse link at parts stores , crimp and heat shrink will work .

Thanks JWC. Any idea what that connector is to?

One of the wires is chewed off right at the base and unless i can figure out how to get it out, there's not enough to work with to crimp. Not the fuse link, but the black connector in upper part of picture.

You can bypass the connector , do away with it . No . It will not be factory , But it will be OK . . Not sure what the connector is to . I work on Many farm trucks ... Wiring is a constant battle .

Most of our Ford connectors will come apart. The little red thing is a locking device that pulls out the mating side, allowing the pins to then slip out the rear of the connector.

This may be one of those connectors.

Pellets work wonders too....I generally give them a good two pump whelp on the rump the first time.

Fill bucket. Layer seeds on top of the water. Prop 2x4 up to the bucket as a ramp. Watch them climb up and dive it in enjoy the seeds. The rest is history because they can't swim or get out. Kind of inhumane, but they are rodents that are destroying your property!

I got rid of two family of chipmunks digging into my foundation last summer with this method.

Don't need to fill the bucket... half full works just as well and is easier to carry.

Thanks for the input guys. I got the fuseable link taped up and another 14 gauge wire to the solenoid repaired temporarily, just to see if i could start it. I didn't get the connector repaired at all, it looks like it goes to the air conditioning system.

Truck started and ran fine so I'm not sure what those three wires in that connector is operating though.

I'll either get it fixed this weekend, go to the junk yard and scavenge one, or just jump around it with crimps like JWC previously suggested.

As well, I'm going kill me some climbing rodents... Full nest built under the turbo in the valley. It's funny (now), last week I saw a squirrel running through the woods several times carrying a mouth full of leaves, headed towards the driveway before I lost him. I just thought he was ignorant for not getting the acorns alone without all the leaves... I guess we know who was ignorant now.
