I'm getting about 16 MPG as of now in my new 2015 F-250 (only 1000 miles now so still hasn't had time for a perfect average yet). My problem is about every other day I'll take off and get absolutely horrible mileage and while its like that the air doesn't blow very hard if set on auto (I can force it to if I manually set it to high). When I see this happening I can pull off the road and restart truck and it goes right back to normal. Has anyone else experienced this?
An active Regen will last 15-20 miles of hiway/freeway driving. It will take place about every 200 miles If you turn off in middle of a Regen, it's ok, but the next Regen will pop up sooner since you didn't finish the last one.
I've not notice my heat or A/C working any different during a Regen
Your truck will do a passive Regen any time your EGT temps exceed 572 degrees
Freeway driving at 70 mph will barely hit 500 degrees. So passive regents occure more while towing or climbing grades
I haven't been saltwater fishing in a while. Been fishing freshwater tournaments around Toledo bend and Sam Rayburn. Don't have a boat that I'm willing to put in salt water anymore so I have to wait on invites. Sucks at times cause I'm just a couple miles from Big Lake.
My A/C on auto does that in my 15. I just set it to manual when needed. Although for the past 6 months it is usually in the defrost mode anyways, I just have to manually up the fan speed.
If you do a lot of short trips and city driving you will regen a lot and you can get stuck in one. I have gone down to an average of 9 MPG. This is doing short trips, teens to below zero temps F, and with some slight grades involved. Usually by the time I get "stuck in regen" I end up having to take a 40 mile roundtrip highway drive and that cleans it out.
The old strategy in my 2011 truck was better for my type of driving. I actually can't wait to take the truck on a very long, highway drive this summer.
