91 F250 Transmission Problems
my truck has an automatic coupled to the 302. everything is stock. problem is when you first start the truck and put it inany gear(reverse is the worst) it takes a long time to catch. once it finally engages probably 5-10 secs later it works fine. it is even worse if it has set around for awhile without being run and the more you run it the better it gets. any ideas on what the problem is? its not the fluid.

Probably the oil pump. My AOD in my T-bird did this. There is a gasket between the filter and the valve body. If it is not sealing right that may also be the problem. If I remember corectly there is a wrong way to put the gasket in or forget it all together. It has been about 4 years now since I have done it.
