Transmission compatibility Q

I have a 2001 f250 7.3, it has 183k on it....there is an 01 f250 5.4 truck at a junkyard near me. It has about 90k on it. Is that the same tranny i have in my 7.3? I thought about snagging it for a spare.

No, it won't work. Your biggest issue is that the diesel transmissions have a different bolt pattern.

Your second biggest problem is that the internals on the 5.4L trans are weaker than those in the diesel. If you found a way to attach it, it wouldn't last long at all.
