I have no idea what made it break. I was trimming off a plastic lip that was maybe 1/8" thick. maybe my hand moved the frame a little or something? I'm not sure. it happened so fast that I didn't even realize I lost a finger until I went in the house to wash my hand to see how bad I had cut my middle finger and tell my wife I needed to go get stitches. the middle finger hurt the most cuz it broke too. it was cut nearly 3/4 of the way through. my wife saw my missing finger before I did and freaked out. she was running around screaming and crying and I just kept telling her to calm down, and get me a paper towel or something to wrap my hand up tight so that I could call the ambulance.
the worst part of this for me is I run a lawn mower repair business and this is my busiest time of the year. I'm swamped with work, and don't know what I'm gonna do now.
In my had surgery experiences and I have had a few do to
this or that. They seem to heal fast do to all the blood flow.
When they tell you to start moving it do it. It may hurt like hell
but it will help get the mobility back.
Typing is the biggest pain and still is for me. I can over do it.
went and saw the surgeon today. he removed the cast and said it looks like it was starting to heal nicely. he said I have good blood flow to where the injuries are. I was glad that I had feeling in my middle finger at the tip and at the nail. he was surprised cuz he thought it would take a while to get feeling back. he made me two small splints for the bad fingers so that I can move every thing. feels so much better without the giant cast and being able to move my thumb and 2 good fingers. they were really getting cramped from not moving. little painful to touch the end of the amputated finger right now, but I'm gonna try to get back to work tomorrow and just do some light easy jobs.
