I had ordered 9 trucks thru fleet between 1990 and 2005 and prefer to get my trucks this way. Still have my 06' F-350.

I started looking into it and had a question about ordering a chassis cab.

You used to be able to order a Crew Cab dually chassis cab with a 156" wheel base (short bed).

The online build a truck site won't give you this option. Is it still possible?

Was hoping to build a Crew 4x4 Dually shortbed like below.

 

The only wheelbase allowed with a chassis cab DRW Crew Cab configuration is 176 inches.

 

That is all I could come with. Shoot, I had that length once before, great out on the road, not fun in town or in parking lots.

I think Dodge offers this combo still, I wish Ford would still do it.

 

I have one of those too.. Great combo.

I think Ford stopped offering that around 08 though.

 

Wish I saw that coming. I would have ordered one and kept the 6.0L running forever.


I guess it is either a super cab Long bed or no duals. I just don't like long beds. Short beds fill all my needs.

Does the wide track front axle only come on the F-450 now? Or can you get it on the F-350 too?

 

I think the wide track comes on either the 350 or 450 drw

 

X4W is wide track axle. I could be wrong, but I only see this in the order guide for ambulance package on F-350 DRW. The '16 sourcebook isn't out yet. '15 lists it as standard on 450/550 CC and F350 ambulance.

 

Ford did not sell enough and discontinued the option.
