random no start problem

I have been having the random nuetral then slam into gear problem the past few weeks. Yesterday i drove the truck for about 20 minutes to a friends house. When i got back in the truck it wouldnt start. It had spark and fuel pump was running, but now start. After letting the truck sit overnight it fired up just fine. I let it run for 1.5 hrs and it ran perfect.
Are these problems related in any way? No engine codes, no warning lights, drive fine despite the random shift problem after 5-10 miles and yesterdays no start issue.

Does not sound related, as far as enine running problem its kinda just fuel and spark, sounds like coil symptoms / after the electrical module cools down it works. But you said you had spark? You sure? Fuel pump running doesn't nessesarrily mean fuel, you would think so though, maybe some starter fluid in the TB will tell you if its fuel

there are a ton of reasons it wont start according to temperature (hot/warm/cold). how did you confirm that you had fuel and spark?

Pull the codes, if it is an E4OD, you will see codes from that if there is a trans problem. If E4OD, also check trans fluid, replace if dirty, fill if clean and low.
